Digital x-ray imaging uses digital x-ray sensors to replace traditional photographic x-ray film. Enhanced digital images of teeth and other oral structures and conditions produced instantly on any computer screen can be manipulated to enhance contrast and detail. Lillybrook Dental brings digital x-ray technology in-house to ensure you receive the best and most timely dental advice and treatment, allowing us to identify dental conditions, even before they advance to become costly concerns.

Many people ask if digital x-rays are safe. Very low radiation means x-rays can be taken safely on the inside (intra-oral) or outside of your mouth (extra-oral), whether you’re an adult, child, or even pregnant. The benefit of timely digital x-rays is that early detection and treatment of dental problems arising from accurate digital images can save time, money and discomfort.
The digital x-ray technology used at Lillybrook Dental adheres to the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle, which promotes radiation safety. Digital sensors and PSP (photostimulable phosphor) plates are more sensitive to X-radiation and require 50 to 80 percent less radiation than film.
Lillybrook Dental has both digital sensors and phosphor plate X-ray for intraoral images and digital orthopantomogram (OPG) machine to take OPG images.
